There Are Post-Christmas TV Deals Offering Deep Deep Discount Deals, But … Comments Off

I must remind hubby to buy a few tv stands. One of the tv stands dropped off while I was adjusting the television set yesterday evening.

Luckily, I managed to catch hold of the television. Though there are post-Christmas TV deals that offer deep deep discounts, it’s not possible for me to get a new one.

Like I said, I want to save money for rainy days.

When it rains heavily, all banks will want their umbrellas back as soon as possible. Therefore I must have my own umbrella.

Miss Split Pea Soup This New Year Eve 2009 Comments Off

I miss my grandma’s healthy cooking. I am going to miss her split pea soup this New Year Eve.

Although I have grandma’s split pea soup and leftover ham recipes, they somehow don’t taste as delicious as my grandma’s.

Perhaps it has got to do with my grandma’s cooking experience and skills. Or it’s because of the fact that I dislike cooking.

Hubby and I are not celebrating with our family this New Year Eve 2009.

Traveling to another state to celebrate with family will cost us a few hundred dollars.

We are not prepared to fork out a few hundred dollars. Instead we want to save it for rainy days.

Buy Auto Parts Or Used Auto Parts To Cut Cost Comments Off

I have heard that auto parts, especially used auto parts are going to be very sought after in year 2009.

According to some experts, people who think of buying new cars may put their purchases on hold owing to looming recession.

This may result in them spending their money on car parts, especially used car parts to cut cost or save money.

Be Grateful For What You Still Have Comments Off

I am glad to have been told that my blogging buddy’s hubby has found a new job selling children’s toys and swing sets at a local toy shop.

The salary is lower than his previous’ job. But the hubby doesn’t mind. With current weakening economy, being able to bring home income is good enough.

He is grateful that he doesn’t have to usher in a depressing and worrying new year.

Me too. I am grateful for the amount of money I am making online now.

What Are Your New Year’s Resolutions? Comments Off

What are your New Year’s resolutions for 2009? My 2009 New Year’s resolutions are making more money, saving more money and paying off credit card debt.

I am praying that I make more money online.

It’s scary to hear news about economic crisis and recession, isn’t it? News about big corporates have laid off or are going to lay off employees can be heard every day.

Some of my blogger buddies’ husbands have already been laid off and are looking for new jobs desperately.

This is definitely a sad Christmas to those who have been retrenched. May God bless them with new jobs soon.

Are You Always Stopped By Credit Card Sales Executives? Comments Off

While shopping for MBT shoes at a shopping mall yesterday, a credit card sales executive stopped me and asked if I had a bank’s credit card.

It’d been some time since I was stopped by a credit card sales executive.

When is your last time being told of a credit card balance transfer offer or 0% interest rate credit card deal?

I am happy that I no longer have any credit card.

Local Banks Still Charge Finance Charges & Late Payment Fees Comments Off

I am so angry that some of the local banks still charge me finance charges and late payment fees even though I am now under the debt management program.

This morning when I checked my bank statement, I was shocked that one of the banks banked in the post-dated checks I had issued before my debt management program was approved.

This bank should have known that I am now under the debt management program and that they shouldn’t have banked in the post-dated check.

I was fed up that I stopped chatting with a Seattle injury lawyer buddy and shot a call to the bank.

I Don’t Remember My Term Life Insurance Quote Comments Off

A buddy asked how much I paid for my term life insurance last time. Wow… more than 10 years ago! I have already forgotten.

If she really needs to know my term life insurance quote, I have to dig out all my insurance policies from the drawer.

Perhaps I should just ask her to search for cheap term life insurance quotes online if she really wants to find the cheapest insurance.
