At last, I successfully submitted my debt repayment plan (debt management plan) application form just now.
The first time I went to the office, I was told that I needed 3 months’ income statements to prove that I make certain amount of money every month. So I went home.
The second time I went there, I submitted the income statements and was given a 10-page form to fill up. Halfway through, I asked if I could give one credit card for online use. The counselor insisted that I must give up all credit cards, otherwise I couldn’t enroll myself in the debt management program.
Why wasn’t I told of more detailed information when I was there the first time? I was pissed off but there was nothing I could do. So I went home again.
This morning was the third time I went to the AKPK office. I managed to fill up the form with little help from the counselor. After checking all the details in the form, the counselor asked me to make a photocopy for the income statement, credit card statements and also the debt repayment plan application form.
It’s 11.30 am at that time and the counselor would go off for his lunch at 12 pm. I had to run downstairs very fast to get a photocopy for the statements and form at a nearby toys‘ store. Luckily, I was back by 12 pm and managed to submit the completed set of statements and application form to the counselor.
It’s going to take three months to process the application.
